Mission Trip

Me and my sis signed up for this mission trip since it's at the right time and the right place(i won't say for sure the right place). anyway, we're going to Thailand this time. Not hat Yai, not bangkok and not chiang mai. we're only landing in Chiang Mai that's all. we travel to Om Koil for about 2.5 hours then spent the night there. next day, we had an eight hour journey to the next village called . I got stuck with another two adults since the four wheel does not hav enuf space. To cut the long story short, we arrived there just after they finished the medical mission for that night. So it's eat and sleep for me. Let me show u how they eat and of coz how i eat.

That's me and my group leader and it's half-
cooked pork in the middle..yucks!

Second day came and i was involved in the medical mission and guess what's my role! wound cleaner! blek! i had to clean disgusting wounds and phew, that was the only time i had to clean wounds.

that's me cleaning some wounds.

Came the toughest part of the trip. We had to walk to the next village 1 hour away( their 1 hour, we took 2.5 hours). whew, i was never happier when i finally reached the village. my legs felt sored and of coz the whole group is tired too. worst still, we had medical mission at night. that night medical mission
song lo, i even fell asleep since there was no one. wwweeeeeeee!!!!!!! the doctor woke me up after sometime as there was a patient with mild injuries. ok la, juz clean a bit onli. end of story for that day. same way we ate our dinner. Next day, i involve myseld into the children ministry. wwaaaa...so fun and enjoyable compared to medical mission.

that's me and the interpreter for this mission and in case
you're wondering what am i doing, i'm doing a magic trick.
that's harperet from the left follow by connie, justin and me
and the rest are children(doh!).

we started our journey back this time using a shorter but tougher route which took us 1.5 hours. hey, it's better than the 2.5 hours track. there was landmines at some places which leaves ur shoes brown once u step on it and at times the path was just big enuf for ur feet with a sheer drop at the side. won't die la if drop but better not drop la all the same. i was not the first one to arrived but the first one to bath. WOW! to feel the icey cold water splashing down ur body was good i can tell u that! i took my time of coz and started packing for the next village we're be going to. Vadaglo the name of the village which means big bamboo. had to go there by four-wheel so all of us,10 including me stuff ourselves into the truck.

Reached there and started having dinner with the rest of the people there. This time diff a bit. Eat like how we eat at home la. no plates for rice but rice wraped with pandan leaves. not bad la the food, can't be criticizing them all the while......we went to see the Christmas concert held by the people there. For a while only la then went back for debriefing.

I'm the guy in grey sweaters at the back of the pic.
cold la, so like this lo......

After debrief pack medicine then hav a small supper and sleep. Next day was a Sunday! we had to perform in front of the people there and i guess they know that we're singing without understanding what's being sang by us. we may be singing love songs to them but they probably think we're singing some Christians song. k la, dun so bad la. then medical mission started again. the whole day this time until at night. I was on medical mission again taking blood pressures, height, weight, name that sort of stuff before they could see the doctor. at night no more registration so i went to pack medicine. That was when i got the name 'Dr Wo'. behind everything there's a story. not gonna tell u y.

the final village we went to, we started medical mission immediately. i was the pharmacist at last. quite fun leh, trying to read the doctor's hand writing. worse than chicken writing i can tell u that. that night's dinner was the best la. we had KarenCan. very spicy yet delicious. the best meal la so far. same way we ate it. last day of mission came, not the last but last in the sense of no more medical mission.

Tour and shopping!!!!
that's the last two days. we visited umbrella making industry(the old king of umbrella), long neck people village, jewelry industry, shirt painting and of cause the most important one Night Bazar!

that's me behind a tree trunk hitting the soften
'papers' before dipping them inside some fluid

that's me with a crossbow. man!it's really tough
pulling the 'string' back.
i bought a pair of army trousers at 800 baths(RM 80) and that's all. after the whole trip i was left with more baths compared to my sis, wahahahaha!!!!!!

CG outing

24th november 2007 the from 4 cg had their outing. well, things did not really went as planned. first of all, not that much people. secondly, it's all over the newspaper. Democracy by the indians. So, we ended up in leisure mall. like what my fren would express her feelings, *blek!* and worst for me and me justin, me fren who's gonna go misson trip with me, we had to attend the meeting and joined them later.

let's start from where i joined them. we had steambot and yes, i sweat as if i just bath or something like that. then we went over to matt's house to put our stuff there as we're overnighting there! woohoo! then we had the holy communion service.
me : let's partake of it with thanksgiving( holding up the puri)
justin : let's drink of it with thanksgiving too( teh ais limau)

and from there we share our childhood experience and chat till like 11.30++. at matt's house, we played the game RISK! first game i had the most armies and they dun reli like it, so they insisted on restarting. second game, i win them with a difff of one land. and so, we bunk it at 3.30 and the next morning, whew! so mani alarms rang and none of them woke us up, hav la, but then we switched it off.

Vacationi Bible school

some of you might wonder what's 'vacation bible school.' well, it's a camp for childrens. don't worry, i did not went there as a participant. i went there to help.
Whew! what could i say about it? fun? suffering? tiring? exciting? i myself am lost in words on how to describe my feelings towards this camp. if any of you has ever taken care of children's before, you'll noe what i mean. To top it up, i hav to take care of 8 children age from 7-9. and the thing which made me really pissed is that my same team captain only has to take care of 6 children!
let's get started, never judge a child by their innocent faces! y do i say so? i realize at the end of the day that the innocent looking face boys has a golden ring above their heads at times and at times you'll see two horns coming up! plus the tail and the three pointed fork! another that really gave me a surprise is that nothing comes free! there's a really cute boy who follows me around and carry my things for me. well, to motivate children's, stickers are used. and that boy asked me for stickers!
boy :teacher, i want stickers!
me : you answer my questions then i'll give you.
boy : i help you take things wor?
me :*speechless*
welll, now you noe what i meant. One more funny thing, there's a boy you noe. with a hair cut really like a girl's. my first impression was that he's a girl. yeah, i really thought that. until later that day when he entered the guys dorm, then only i realized! he's a BOY!
well, that's the first day. the second day the captains get to swim first. to top things up i and my fren were the first two fellas to went inside the pool. there was splashing water at each other mostly between the captains and the children's. and towards the end, my leg cramp. yeah, it really crammped. right leg lower muscle. whew, it was sort of fun and painful at the same time.
third day i no more mood ady. not only me, most of the captains too no more mood and the children too getting more out of control. there was supposed to be 2 session and they decided to cancel out the second session. happy la me! i think of the people there i'm the most happy one!wwwweeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!
that wraps it up for the camp. sry for no photo's but i'll try to get them asap la.

First Day

ok, so i started playing blog.y why leh? because i was bored during the holidays and i mean really bored plus a friend of mine told me that it's a good way to express yourself. well, let's try it. This is my first time writing a blog which is some sort of like a diary and I seriously don't know what to write.

let's start with yesterday. my first day serving in the youth force worship ministry. what could i say? it's an experience which you can only get when you're up that. I'm not asking you guys and gurls reading this to go up there in the middle of worship! like i say, it's my first time so of course i'm nervous but as it goes on i started to get a hang of it. at the end, one of the musicians told me that he couldn't hear what i'm playing. T.T sad la.....stand there and play and probably half the time no one can hear what i'm playing. well, it's not about whether they can hear what you're playing but rather about serving God and leading the people in worshiping. During the middle of the worship session, i looked up towards the people worshiping. From where I was standing, I realized what every worship team nightmare will be. The people there standing there staring at you or maybe leaning against the wall. It's something really sad to see and at the same time discouraging. Imagine yourself up there playing or singing while they're there staring at you. the good news is that I only see that on my right side. While they're staring at us(the worship team) the youth's on the left hand side of me, WOW, it's really amazing you know. the way they worship and praise God. It's really encouraging and .......(sry la, no words to describe).

What the pastor preach towards the end is really true. How do we come before God. Do we just approach him when we are in need or do we walk by His side daily in our life? Ponder upon this question on your spiritual life, are you one of them? If so, it's time to change. One more, they way we approach Him especially during praise and worship. Do we stand there starring dead straight ahead as if attending a funeral service?or do we close our eyes and surrender ourselves before Him? Imagine yourself, asking your parents for maybe um....money. There you are, asking your parents for money and their reaction, your mom with folded arms starring at you one of a kind and your dad, with his legs up anywhere reading his newspaper shaking his head left to right. How would you feel? It hurts right? that's how God feels when we approach Him in that manner.

ok lah, guess you're tired ady la reading. Anyway i wanna go sleep liao. Been facing the comp and TV the whole day.
