Mission Trip

Me and my sis signed up for this mission trip since it's at the right time and the right place(i won't say for sure the right place). anyway, we're going to Thailand this time. Not hat Yai, not bangkok and not chiang mai. we're only landing in Chiang Mai that's all. we travel to Om Koil for about 2.5 hours then spent the night there. next day, we had an eight hour journey to the next village called . I got stuck with another two adults since the four wheel does not hav enuf space. To cut the long story short, we arrived there just after they finished the medical mission for that night. So it's eat and sleep for me. Let me show u how they eat and of coz how i eat.

That's me and my group leader and it's half-
cooked pork in the middle..yucks!

Second day came and i was involved in the medical mission and guess what's my role! wound cleaner! blek! i had to clean disgusting wounds and phew, that was the only time i had to clean wounds.

that's me cleaning some wounds.

Came the toughest part of the trip. We had to walk to the next village 1 hour away( their 1 hour, we took 2.5 hours). whew, i was never happier when i finally reached the village. my legs felt sored and of coz the whole group is tired too. worst still, we had medical mission at night. that night medical mission
song lo, i even fell asleep since there was no one. wwweeeeeeee!!!!!!! the doctor woke me up after sometime as there was a patient with mild injuries. ok la, juz clean a bit onli. end of story for that day. same way we ate our dinner. Next day, i involve myseld into the children ministry. wwaaaa...so fun and enjoyable compared to medical mission.

that's me and the interpreter for this mission and in case
you're wondering what am i doing, i'm doing a magic trick.
that's harperet from the left follow by connie, justin and me
and the rest are children(doh!).

we started our journey back this time using a shorter but tougher route which took us 1.5 hours. hey, it's better than the 2.5 hours track. there was landmines at some places which leaves ur shoes brown once u step on it and at times the path was just big enuf for ur feet with a sheer drop at the side. won't die la if drop but better not drop la all the same. i was not the first one to arrived but the first one to bath. WOW! to feel the icey cold water splashing down ur body was good i can tell u that! i took my time of coz and started packing for the next village we're be going to. Vadaglo the name of the village which means big bamboo. had to go there by four-wheel so all of us,10 including me stuff ourselves into the truck.

Reached there and started having dinner with the rest of the people there. This time diff a bit. Eat like how we eat at home la. no plates for rice but rice wraped with pandan leaves. not bad la the food, can't be criticizing them all the while......we went to see the Christmas concert held by the people there. For a while only la then went back for debriefing.

I'm the guy in grey sweaters at the back of the pic.
cold la, so like this lo......

After debrief pack medicine then hav a small supper and sleep. Next day was a Sunday! we had to perform in front of the people there and i guess they know that we're singing without understanding what's being sang by us. we may be singing love songs to them but they probably think we're singing some Christians song. k la, dun so bad la. then medical mission started again. the whole day this time until at night. I was on medical mission again taking blood pressures, height, weight, name that sort of stuff before they could see the doctor. at night no more registration so i went to pack medicine. That was when i got the name 'Dr Wo'. behind everything there's a story. not gonna tell u y.

the final village we went to, we started medical mission immediately. i was the pharmacist at last. quite fun leh, trying to read the doctor's hand writing. worse than chicken writing i can tell u that. that night's dinner was the best la. we had KarenCan. very spicy yet delicious. the best meal la so far. same way we ate it. last day of mission came, not the last but last in the sense of no more medical mission.

Tour and shopping!!!!
that's the last two days. we visited umbrella making industry(the old king of umbrella), long neck people village, jewelry industry, shirt painting and of cause the most important one Night Bazar!

that's me behind a tree trunk hitting the soften
'papers' before dipping them inside some fluid

that's me with a crossbow. man!it's really tough
pulling the 'string' back.
i bought a pair of army trousers at 800 baths(RM 80) and that's all. after the whole trip i was left with more baths compared to my sis, wahahahaha!!!!!!
